Beyond Equity is our initiative to help socially conscious and equality-aimed spaces to reach true inclusion. In light of equal opportunity hiring and efforts for increasing diversity, many groups have opened their doors to marginalized people without going through the process of creating a safe working space for them. Our aim as a collective is to develop an online platform and resource for addressing tokenism. We seek to create spaces to witness and create a record of testimonies from members of our communities to show educational examples of how people have been directly impacted by tokenism. Our hope is to develop networks of care, strategize together around community care methods, and implement tools to address tokenism and reach self advocacy.
